You’re kiddin’ me!

Time to lighten up! Guilt got you down? Then come over here and chuckle for a while at the good-natured stories, photos and videos that the Villagers have contributed. The goal? Purely to learn to take ourselves and our world a little less seriously… Our great Friend is wearing his best smile today, and wishes only that we look in his direction to see that whatever is bothering us is not the real problem. We look past the effects in our lives (our little dramas and upsets) and straight to cause (those ever so silly thoughts of guilt – snicker), and let the importance of the whole kit ‘n kaboodle disappear in a ‘poof’ of laughter and smiles. Enjoy!

P.S. A teeny guide for contributing to this page: the fun and humour we are looking for is never disparaging, not even suggestively judgmental. On the other hand, a comedian who is poking fun at himself is definitely okay, as long as it’s in good taste. Thanks.

Jennifer and Jim kept getting huge water bills. They knew beyond a doubt that the bills weren’t representative of their actual usage, and no matter how they tried to conserve, the high bills continued.

Although they could see nothing wrong, they had everything checked for leaks or problems: first the water meter, then outdoor pipes, indoor pipes, underground pipes, faucets, toilets, washer, ice maker, etc. — all to no avail.

One day Jim was sick and stayed home in bed, but kept hearing water running downstairs. He finally tore himself from his sick bed to investigate, and stumbled onto the cause of such high water bills.

Apparently this was happening all day long when they were not at home. Knowing that few would believe him, he taped a segment of the ‘problem’ for posterity — see attached video.

    Video #2, and Video #3…
Bernard, dear friend – what can I say ? A thawing of my frozen heart, perhaps is appropriate to describe how I experienced those beautiful minutes ?

  2. Lisi says:

Thanks Bernard, I liked all but No. 2 is exactly what I need today. Lots of hugs to all and much love, Lisi

New contribution in the ‘Kiddin’ Me’ gallery – many thanks, Nina.

it’s a MIRACLE!!! a heartfelt connection that goes way way beyond words … a dive into the dimension of divine grace … what joy … God wants us to be happy … God wants us to love life, our life … this happy dream … these are precious, fabulous, WOW … many thanks, deep bows, happy joy … THAAAANK YOU!!!

Another addition on the Kiddin’ Me page. This is a gem. Jeff is a friend of mine and a wonderful teacher of non-duality (very Zen-like). Here is he demonstrating the Holy Spirit’s ‘little smile’ as a response to our serious questions, even if it does totally consume him in huge belly-guffaws. Enjoy!

  6. Annie says:

I will return to that couch with Jeff often! I’m a snorter too (:

  7. anil says:

    Thanks, Bernard –
Watched a follow-up suggestion from YouTube – “Already living the Mircale” Nice. had never heard of him till your post). Is he AdyaShanti ?

ps. Annie – am trying hard to forget it’s your birthday tomorrow – so that i give you all that “special attention” only for one day !! (:

  8. Pam says:

Jeff on the couch…. am waiting for the time to watch the rest of the discussion. XD…. BTW the kids on Cory’s safe chat site are using the XD for big smiles guess the X represents squinty eyes.

  9. anil says:

    Pam – what’s XD ?

  10. Pam says:

Anil XD is how the kids on the safe chat sites like Wiglington and Wenks or Club Penguin make a smiley face representing a really big smile and or laughing. You have to look at it sideways like our (: the D is the mouth open wide and the X is the squinty way your eyes get.

Look at Jeff and his buddy in the video still and you can see the upperlip is the straight back of the D and how squinty their eyes are.

Cory had to explain it to me. I tried it here so it wouldn’t pop up an emote-a-con like this 😀

  11. anil says:

    Aha, Pam –
Now I see it (:. Perhaps I’ll start using XD now. I was so tired of the origianl version of it, then last year, loved your inverted version of it, and started using that extensively, and now I seem to want something new again.

(my) Ego so picky about such ridiculous things. To take a tiny symbol of happiness/goodwill and turn it into such a source of mental twisting and turning – no wonder i can’t find the time to melt into an awareness/glimpse of “god is”. oh well – it is what it is !! (:

ps. Katrina, we haven’t yet stepped out for a Starbucks coffee yet, but my brother-in-law arrives home tomorrow, and he’s a big fan, so pretty sure the starbucks thing will be happening this weekend.

  15. Bernard says:

Long-awaited addition to the Kiddin’ Me gallery. Who? What? I don’t know!

  16. Annie says:

    Excellent!!!!

A picture is worth a Thousand words!!!!

I know words come easily to you Mr. Mayor but when you find yourself speechless…
well, I’m just saying… I hear you loud and clear 🙂

    Thanks for Sharing

  17. Lisi says:

Thanks Bernard for sharing, it is just awesome.

Newsbreak: The blue dot has been stolen!! A live video report from Temecula on this dramatic event by two courageous reporters. Many thanks to our intrepid team for their selfless effort on behalf of all Sonship-kind. Just scroll up to the last video on the list above and enjoy.

  19. Annie says:

I laughed so hard when I first saw this. The skit was originally planned to include Katrina and myself (Anne is the professional camera person) but as fate would have it we left the blue dot and my handy dandy microphone (brush) back at the hotel room the day we planned to film. We didn’t realize it till we were already at the Foundation so instead we enjoyed our a tailgate picnic lunch (our camera person Texanne also created the fabulous tailgate buffet). The good news was that’s the day we ran into Zafu so it helped ease the disappointment of the filming delay and we had more time to enjoy Zafu’s company. (: I did leave my fancy hairbrush and black sweater (props) before I had to return to LA so I am happy to know I did contribute in a small way to the production. The script was so well done don’t ya think? (written by Winnie) Did you catch that we worked for the DonnaD News Team (: I have the most adorable picture of Katrina wearing those reporter glasses~ will submit to Bernard, first I best check in with Katrina (:

And one more note as all filming has some behind the scenes out take moments. We had the blue dot with the other props (fake microphone and such) in the trunk of my car the whole time (: Found them later that evening when we got back to our hotel. Wished someone filmed our faces for that follow up story.

    The End

  20. Pam says:

re. the blue dot. Definitely can’t accuse the DonnaD news team of being “serious” Course students. Favorite line: “…the purpose of which is to upset the UN-natural order of things.” Yeah baby bring it on ha ha ha ha.

  21. Nina says:

Winnieeee ….The blue dot – did you eat it???? how does it work from the inside, Winnie??

  22. Hedda says:

Wish I had been there with you Winnie & Co !

  23. katrina says:

You have my permission, Annie. Did you notice that the only follow up You-Tube could come up for Winnie’s report was a Carl Sagan video. Apparently, the right mind must have had a hand in the categorizing.

Regarding wearing these glasses, I highly recommend them for driving through areas that have traffic cameras. While they will get your license number, the computer will not make a match between the person in the photo and the picture on your driver’s license. No surprise ticket in the mail. I wear them all the time.

  24. Texas says:

I have mine on, even as we speak!

  25. Bernard says:

Nina sent in this great youtube that’ll give you all a big tickle. Ah… Just scroll up to the last entry above.

  26. Bernard says:

Contribution from Annie to the gallery of funnies. Read the bear warning sign all the way to the end.

  27. Pam says:

    So does that mean for grizzlies those are dinner bells with spice on the side? (-;

  28. Nina says:

Pam, that gave me some really nice images 🙂

  29. Pam says:

Nina I’m so glad you put that smiley on the end or I would of been worried that I had inadvertently traumatized you.

  30. Bernard says:

New video contribution from Richard on the Humor page (you’re kiddin’ me gallery).

  31. Pam says:

Richard, two thumbs up and a tail wag.LOL

  32. Annie says:

Even man’s best friend goes for the ego tease everytime.

We are gonna lick this one day- no doubt (:

  33. Bernard says:

I’m reporting Richard to the Royal Association for the Preservation of the Dignity of Canines! Poor puppy… and to think that the cat got all those goodies. There are some other fun videos in that ‘talking animal’ series if you care to take a look. But Winnie’s recent post is really far more important and interesting… so I should get back to the real work at hand instead of digressing so much all the time!
